In 2007, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released its latest report on climate change to assess the scientific, technical, and socio-economic information relevant for understanding the risk of human-induced climate change. The IPCC was created by the United Nations in 1988, and is widely seen as the leading body of scientific experts in the field of climate change research.
This section of the IPCC's comprehensive report on climate change deals specifically with the ways in which a changing climate will impact freshwater resources and their management. This technical report illustrates the types of changes we can expect in watersheds throughout the world and provides an in-depth analysis of the enviornmental, social, economic, and health issues raised by these changes to our water systems.
