Watergy: Energy and Water Efficiency in Municipal Water Supply and Wastewater Treatment

This report was published by the Alliance to Save Energy in February 2007. It is designed as a guide to help water and wastewater utility managers cost-effectively save energy while maintaining the highest degree of service to their customers. The four main strategies are improved pumping, metering and monitoring, leak management, and automated controls. This report is especially useful for wastewater and water utility managers interested in improving their system's efficiency and reducing costs, or for water advocates looking for examples of how their local utility can improve its operations.
