Kerry Mackin
Kerry Mackin (MA), Kerry is the mouse who roared, and her work is a stunning example of what one person can accomplish. For more than two decades, Kerry has championed the cause of river protection and restoration, not only for the Ipswich, but for all rivers across Massachusetts. In her twelve years leading IRWA, Kerry’s tireless efforts have been instrumental in getting water quantity and stream flow issues the attention they deserve. In 1997, Kerry received the EPA Environmental Merit award for her work on water supply issues and water conservation. She consistently is able to bring divergent interests to the table to discuss the issues and fi nd solutions. Her on-going work has long-term implications for water issues regionally, along the eastern seaboard, and as a template nationally.
