“As the leader of the Delaware Riverkeeper Network and founder of the national non-profit, Green Amendments for the Generations, protecting the environment and its vital waterways is both my calling and my passion. It’s an honor to receive this year’s River Hero Award from those of you who work beside me to champion our country’s waterways. For you understand that the work is done not by a single person but by many. In accepting this award I do so not just for myself but for the colleagues, communities, and partner organizations who work alongside me. Together we have achieved the many successes that are protecting our environments and rivers for future generations and together we will continue our to give our environment a voice in our human world, and pass Green Amendments nationwide so all communities have a true and defensible right to pure water, clean air, a stable climate and healthy environments!”
