Action Day for Clean Water and Rivers – Join Us!
Have you started texting and tweeting your members of Congress, and are missing the chance to actually talk to someone? Are you new to advocacy and want some support to make an effective ask to get Congress to invest in clean and safe water? Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out, it’s an opportune time to make your voice heard in Washington. Action Days for Clean Water and Rivers on April 27-29 is a great chance to join up with others and take our message to the Hill!
We’re teaming up with our friends at American Rivers to provide a virtual training session on the how-tos of effective lobbying as well details and talking points on current policy issues. Our collective asks will focus on increasing investment in our water infrastructure (the pipes, treatment plants, and green infrastructure we rely on) and ensuring that federal funding is prioritized to those communities most in need so that everyone has access to safe, clean, and affordable water. The 2021 Report Card on America’s Infrastructure grades our water infrastructure from a C- to a D – reflecting that our water systems are in need of major investments and vulnerable to the extreme events that are becoming more common due to climate change. The new Low Income Water Assistance Program is a much-needed start to address ratepayer affordability, but it will take a more comprehensive effort to address this critical issue. This is why we need you to help make the case!
You’ll also have time to make your own asks on the issues most important for your community and organization, and we’ll help you to schedule those virtual meetings with your members of Congress. No travel required – make your voice heard from home!
Registration closes on April 9th – so register now to join us for Action Days for Clean Water and Rivers.
